Biography
Mahesh Karki is a skilled BIM (Building Information Modeling) professional with expertise in digital construction technologies and project coordination. He has been actively involved in implementing BIM methodologies to streamline design, enhance project efficiency, and improve cost management in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.
As the BIM Manager for the Butwal International Exhibition Hall Construction project, Karma Residences, and many more, Mahesh played a pivotal role in integrating BIM workflows, facilitating collaboration between stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with project requirements. His expertise extends to model coordination, clash detection, quantity estimation, and the development of digital construction strategies that optimize building performance.
With a strong background in structural engineering and digital construction, Mahesh has contributed to multiple projects, leveraging BIM to drive innovation, reduce rework, and enhance decision-making processes. His work highlights the importance of digitization in Nepal’s construction sector, setting benchmarks for future projects adopting BIM-based approaches.
Mahesh holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's degree from Aalto University, Finland, equipping him with a strong academic foundation in BIM and digital construction. His technical expertise, reinforced by practical experience, enables him to seamlessly integrate engineering principles with advanced digital technologies.
Mahesh has experience working on national and international projects, collaborating with various stakeholders across different regions. He has also provided BIM training to professionals from over 20 countries, helping to build capacity in digital construction methodologies. Additionally, he has worked with major international funding agencies, including JICA, the World Bank, and other global institutions, contributing to infrastructure development and project implementation.
