- More Description
The Butwal International Exhibition Hall project, spearheaded by the Department of Urban Development & Building Construction (DUDBC) is a landmark initiative in Nepal. The primary goal of this project is to implement BIM for the preparation of coordinated drawings, ensuring efficient design and construction processes. The adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Augmented Reality (AR) in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry in Nepal is still in its nascent stages. However, innovative projects like the Butwal International Exhibition Hall signify a shift towards integrating these technologies for better project outcomes.
Augmented reality (AR) was used in the project to improve project visualization and stakeholder engagement. By overlaying digital models onto the physical environment, AR allows project teams to understand the design and construction phases better, leading to more informed decision-making.
The successful implementation of BIM and AR in projects like the Butwal International Exhibition Hall sets a precedent for their wider adoption in Nepal. The government of Nepal’s support for such initiatives indicates a promising future where these technologies will become standard practice in the AEC industry.
