Mark Johnson Panelo

Mark Johnson Panelo is a civil engineer who combines extensive construction experience with a strong passion for technology and innovation. Originally from the Philippines and now based in Vantaa, Finland, he has spent years working hands-on in the construction industry—leading site operations, upholding safety and quality standards, and helping multidisciplinary teams deliver complex projects on time and within budget. His work is driven by a deep sense of responsibility, collaboration, and pride in building structures that make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

He served as a Senior Civil Engineer on several well-known Megaworld Corporation projects in the Philippines, including 81 Newport Boulevard, Savoy Hotel Manila, and Arden Botanical Village, where he played an active role within the construction management team and contributed to successful project delivery.

Throughout his career, Mark developed a strong interest in how digital technologies can transform the construction industry. This passion led him to pursue a Master’s degree in Computing in Construction, expanding his expertise in cloud technologies, digital twins, data analytics, and programming. Today, he enjoys combining engineering knowledge with web development and emerging technologies to create smarter, more efficient solutions for modern construction challenges.

Known for being detail-oriented, adaptable, and collaborative, Mark values continuous learning and innovation. Whether supervising project sites, developing technical tools, or exploring new ideas in engineering and technology, he strives to grow professionally while contributing to safer, more sustainable, and digitally connected projects.
